Job Description:

The SAP TranSCend Site Project Lead is responsible for the preparation and execution the SAP TranSCend strategy at the Leiden site, ensuring alignment with the MTO Strategic Vision and the Global TranSCend framework. This role demands an experienced (on-site) project manager with exceptional management skills and a history of implementing transformative changes that facilitate the site’s digital evolution and enhance business outcomes. The SAP system serves various departments across the site, including manufacturing, maintenance, warehousing, finance, planning, and quality.

Department: This role is part of the Digital, Operational Excellence, and Strategy (DOXS) team and reports directly to the Director of DOXS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning (25%): Develop and implement a comprehensive SAP TranSCend implementation strategy and program across all business units. Conduct a thorough gap analysis for SAP S/4HANA implementation, concentrating on site processes such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and plan-to-produce.

  • Project Management and Execution (25%): Oversee the end-to-end deployment of the SAP TranSCend program across multiple functions, ensuring successful outcomes across all workstreams, adhering to set scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

  • Leadership (20%): Establish and provide guidance to the program team to foster leadership and technical expertise within the organization.

  • Collaboration (10%): Collaborate with the SAP TranSCend program, disseminating best practices globally while fostering a community of practice among SAP subject matter experts (SMEs) at the site.

  • Organizational Change (10%): Partner with business units to facilitate alignment with new capabilities and lead effective change management efforts.

  • Partner Communication and stakeholder management (10%): Maintain proactive and transparent communication regarding project updates with key internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities: Support global DOTS and Global Go Beyond initiatives in the deployment of SAP TranSCend. Utilize insights to enhance deployment strategies for other sites.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Chemical Engineering.

Experience: Established history in operations and project management within the pharmaceutical sector.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven project management skills in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Strong business acumen across various operational disciplines (manufacturing, warehousing, maintenance, quality, finance and planning) with relevant systems integration
  • Proficiency in ISA S95 & S88 standards and their relevance in a global supply chain.
  • Understanding of the digital architecture of a manufacturing site and the interdependencies of key systems (like MES, LIMS and SAP)
  • Facilitating organizational change.
  • Team leadership experience
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), GAMP, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and/or regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving abilities, and skills in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Understanding of automation and IT systems within a regulated environment.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
