Job summary:
- Manages and develops work processes that integrate customer delivery requirements into manufacturing plans.
- Coordinates, Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials, timed to meet production requirements/
- Deliver process improvement and cost savings within the PP& L organization.
- Coach the planning and purchasing team in the daily activities and the process improvement projects.
- Act as the Materials Manager’s Deputy in his/her absence.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Meets departmental KPI’s.
- Manages all raw material and finished goods planning processes, tools and systems ensuring policies, inventory targets and safety stock levels are being met, to deliver products according to targets and avoid materials shortages.
- Lead MPS (Master production Plan) execution and control ensuring optimum mix of codes and quantities are scheduled within available capacity and make improvements to the processes.
- Participates and lead meetings discussing production schedules, capacity constraints and new product introductions. (e.g. SOP and Tier meetings)
- Look for opportunities and help delivering lead time reduction, process, and cost improvements on an annual basis.
- Drive in collaboration with sourcing cost improvement and inventory optimization projects from the source side.
- Take ownership for PP& L team in Leiden for issue resolution in planning or purchase topics, such as raw material constrains and lead mitigation plans.
- Lead, participate and support projects related to Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse.
- Support cross functional projects related to site and company goals.
- Support new product launches by leading supply chain readiness in collaboration with key functional areas.
- Support capacity models and strategy capacity planning for the site
- Ensures systems data integrity and accuracy of signals.
- Work in close collaboration with the global planning teams to understand market trends and distribution challenges and adapt production accordingly.
- Leads analysis of product demand, sales patterns, forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data.
- Supports as SME for Planning and Purchasing on internal and external audits and follow current compliance regulations and standards.
- Lead and supports compliance tasks (NC, CAPAs, ETQ, etc.) to meet timelines.
- Maintaining compliance with company policies related to Quality, Finance, Purchasing and EHS.
- Act as a back/ up for planning and purchasing personnel if required.
- Act as the Materials Manager’s Deputy in his/her absence.
- Coach the planning and purchasing team on the day-to-day activities.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Experience and education:
Education:
- Master’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a comparable position.
- Leading small to medium sized improvement projects
- Resolving and execute operational issues related to supply and planning problems for example projected material shortage.
- with JD Edwards (ERP) processes,
- within Manufacturing, Lean, 6Sigma, or similar methodology
- in A similar (cooperate) environment in a medical device/pharma company.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS
Skills:
- Advanced in excel, power bi, SQL & vba
- Advanced in office 365 apps such as flow, power automate.
- Expert on planning concepts such as MRP, DRP, MPS, S& OP, safety stock calculations, inventory models and applications in planning systems and processes.
- Fluent in English
- Working knowledge of financial processes

Primary Location of the position is in Mentor Leiden site (Zernikedreef 2, 2333 Leiden, Netherlands).
For the position travel may be required.
External interactions
The position may require interactions as subject matter expert with competent authorities during audits.
