Procurement is a key enabler in driving and supporting Johnson & Johnson's growth. Being part of procurement organization, the incumbent in this role will be driving and/or supporting all aspect spend performance such as reliability, innovation, costs, supply network readiness and corporate citizenship goals collaborating with wider procurement, and supply chain community.

The Drug Delivery System Category is responsible for the global procurement of all devices and primary containers and closures (vials, syringes, stoppers) within J& J Innovative Medicine. This position has a significant impact on J& J Innovative Medicine business results, from the enablement of the launch of critical products through the entire life cycle management. The DDS Senior Manager is responsible for driving value with DDS-suppliers across the assigned portfolio. The total spend is approximately > $100 million with a significant growth potential and increasing complexity over the next years.

The individual will be required to develop and manage strong and strategic relationships with key suppliers and lead or support various cross-functional teams to improve supplier reliability, right-first time design and value creation. In addition, this category supports highly complex projects requiring constant collaboration across all levels within R& D, Plants and Engineering organization. The role's success will be measured across multiple dimensions: financial performance, quality, service and compliance adherence. Additionally, it is required for the leader in this space to spearhead and drive innovative business models to meet our future patient needs

The Senior Manager, DDS scope of responsibilities includes:
  • Drive the Procurement vision: shaping supplier solutions that will transform healthcare.
  • Supplier Relationship Management. Manage the interactions with critical suppliers at senior executive level that supply the goods, including performance management, reliability improvement and value creation.
  • Sourcing. Ensure execution of category strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders for reducing total costs of externally purchased materials, goods and services and improving levels of quality, service and value to the Business
  • Contracting. Systematically and efficiently manage complex contracts approval, administration and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.
  • Category Strategy. Develop and drive the vision, strategy and implementation plan in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across the portfolio to deliver maximum value for J& J
  • Business Engagement. Manage the needs and expectations of the Business to drive satisfaction while ensuring compliance to procurement standards and alignment with procurement strategies. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive reliability improvement.
  • Procurement Strategy & Enablement. Develop and maintain the strategic direction for the Procurement function, ensure alignment to strategic goals and standards and effectively manage the enabling tools and technology required across the function
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.
  • People manager
  • Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management, preferably in the Supply Chain Environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners.
  • Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix environment
  • Proven / demonstrated ability to influence, partner on & shape projects with / without direct team / authority.
  • Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environment; rich influencing skills; understands complexities of Regulated industrie
  • Strong project and change management capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions
  • Proven knowledge in parenteral container and/or medical device industry is a clear asset
  • This position may require up to 20% travel.
