Reporting to the RESTART CPA Contract Director this role is responsible for c. 50% of the operational direct delivery of the RESTART contract.

The primary accountability of this role is to successfully deliver on all key performance targets (including Customer Service Standards) and drive performance improvement across the relevant patch of the Restart scheme to meet Maximus and Commissioner delivery expectations. This includes meeting financial and contractual targets where required, assisting with the management of relationships with the commissioner team and leading on business reviews, CPRs and general operational reporting.
  • Through your line management of Operations Managers, deliver excellence in service through effective performance management of all aspects relating to delivery of the Restart scheme.
  • Ensure that contract performance and financial targets are consistently achieved and, where they fall short, take appropriate remedial action to drive improvement.
  • Effectively lead and develop a team of direct reports, providing coaching and support to help them to succeed in their roles and ensuring that this ethos and Maximus business values are replicated across the wider team
  • Contribute to the development of a colleague engagement strategy to ensure all delivery operations are engaged, motivated, values-driven and ambitious to succeed within a high-performance environment and deliver this within areas of responsibility.
  • To help develop and implement a continuous improvement strategy to continually improve effectiveness, efficiency, and service modernisation.
  • Ensure appropriate governance is in place within the Operational team to comply with Quality, HR, health & safety, risk management and other legal requirements upon the business.
  • Support the forecasting and financial planning of all resource requirements for operational delivery and participant spend to maximise profitability and performance.

Key Contacts & Relationships:

Internal

  • Working as a key member of the Restart leadership team reporting to the CPA Contract Director
  • Regular contact and close working with Restart's Head of Operations, Coaching Manager, Head of Community Partnerships, Head of Employer Engagement, Performance Manager and Quality and Contracts Manager.
  • Frequent contact with support functions in the business such as HR, Finance, Quality & Performance and the Support Centre.
  • Occasional contacts and relationships with senior personnel across the Employability Division.
  • Sharing of best practice with Supply Chain managers across CPAs.

External

  • Commissioner team relationships - DWP Performance Management team
  • Frequent contact with local clients (e.g. job centres, Local Authorities, Third Party bodies)

Salary Banding

London - £60, 000 to £65, 000

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) of working at a senior operational level delivering contracts and leading teams, ideally within the employment sector
  • Proven relationship management experience, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrable intellectual ability (preferably educated to degree level)
  • Preferably experienced (or qualified) in continuous improvement
  • Able to work flexibly and, travel extensively and effectively around geographical area of responsibility
