Grand Targhee Resort is hiring a Daycare Attendant (Full and Part-Time, Seasonal) - Winter 26/27 in Alta, WY. This is a full-time position.

SUMMARY This position is for someone who is passionate about working with kids. Being responsible for the safety and well-being of children in the care of the Huckleberry Patch Daycare ranging in age from 1 year to 6 yrs. Communicate with parents, supervisors and staff regarding the activities of children being cared for. Provide input to improve the overall quality of services offered in the daycare. Organize creative activities, games and arts and crafts. Ensure health and safety standards outlined in the current Wyoming Department of Family Services, Child Care Licensing Rules. Perform daily duties including but not limited to: feeding, sleeping/ resting/changing children. Clean all areas of the Huckleberry Patch Daycare facility daily. Must have great guest service skills and the ability to work positively with children and adults. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned Keep all daycare children safe by being responsible and diligent.Note daycare children behavior and actions, be able to convey those back to a supervisor and/ or parent.Create games, activities, crafts etc. to keep children entertained and learning.Dress and clean up children, make sure they have appropriate clothing for the activities they are performing.Cleaning the facility.Taking reservations and handling money.Create an environment that encourages exploration and learning that parents and children trust.Keep calm in moments of stress.Treat kids, parents, and staff with kindness and respect.Age-appropriate communication with kids and while in the facility. Perform duties daily including but not limited to: feeding, changing of diapers, dressing and undressing children for skiing and/or outdoor play.Use positive reinforcement strategies with children.Monitor sleeping/resting children.Take reservations and perform cashiering duties (if applicable). Follow the dress code.Maintain professionalism in all situations. Complete all opening and closing procedures each day. RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY: Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resorts Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK SCHEDULE Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of all hours of continuing education that is required annually from the Wyoming Department of Family Services. Must have knowledge of laws and legal issues involving childcare. High School diploma or a general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current child/infant and adult CPR and First Aid cards or participation in training provided by the resort or be enrolled in a training program off property within 1 month of date of hire required. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Submitting and passing all current Wyoming Department of Family Services (WY DFS) Childcare Licensing requirements.Must be at least 18 years of age.Flexibility to gain certifications needed to assist other Youth Program Departments.Follow all WY DFS Childcare Licensing Rules and additional policies and requirements in the current daycare parent handbook and staff handbook. IMMUNIZATION RECORDS May need to provide documentation of or obtain needed Immunization Records in accordance with Youth Program Staff Policies and updated requirements. These are subject to change. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, shortcorrespondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Excellent verbal communication skills. REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may need to assist with fitting/securing childrens sporting equipment. For safety, the employee must be able to move quickly to another area for kids or while holding kids. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. For ratios and child safety concerns, employees may not be able to leave unexpectedly without confirming adequate coverage with Manager or Supervisor.
