Job Description Job Title: Peer Recovery Support Specialist Reports To: RYSC System Coordinator Last Modified: 11/08/2024 Department: Programs Program: Community Based Sub-Program: n/a FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Salary Range: $16.00-$18.00 Position Status: Full-time Expected Hours of Work: 8: 00 am-4: 30pm (M-F). Additional days or hours may be required. Travel required: Frequent Travel Job Summary: The Peer Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for the development of a Peer Recovery Network for youth/ young adults. This position will outreach and coordinate with existing mental health and recovery services and develop other necessary strength-based supports needed to promote successful recovery. Recovery Specialist will provide recovery support to youth and young adults in northern panhandle counties of West Virginia. Duties and Responsibilities: Research other successful youth peer recovery networks. Outreach to recovery networks to learn about supports necessary to promote successful recovery. Outreach to local peer recovery providers to coordinate efforts. Become a certified Recovery Coach. Participate in local Recovery Coach Training and promote certification process. Public speaking engagements to promote awareness and accessibility of recovery services. Provide recovery support using evidence-based programs. Assist with tracking and reporting performance measures. Complete necessary documentation and grant reporting. Assist with transportation to improve accessibility of recovery services. Assist with applications for private funding to support recovery efforts. Attend necessary treatment team and community meetings. Assist consumers in accessing benefits. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Experience working with the recovery community Excellent time management and organizing skills Ability to network effectively with community agencies Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Ability to independently and effectively, organize, plan, and prioritize workloads Ability to multitask, meet timelines, and solve problems Ability to use Adobe and Microsoft software Education and Experience: High School Diploma/G.E.D or Equivalent; Prefers Associate degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related human service field or the 2-4 years experience; Prefers previous experience working with recovery community; Experience with public relations and marketing preferred. Must pass the IC& RC Peer Recovery Support Specialist Exam.
