Job Title: Longwall Operator

Grade: $39.35/hour

Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas.

• Requires being responsible and dependable while fulfilling work obligations.

• Must comply with company and mine policies regarding Absenteeism, Personal Conduct, and Harassment as well as all policies, standards and expectations as outlined by mine management.
• Must comply with regulatory agencies including MSHA and state regulatory agencies.
• Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner.

• Must be able to properly operate all longwall face equipment

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Minimum of three years of underground mining experience
• Experience as a production operator in Longwall coal mining
• WV underground certification required; or equivalent time to test for certification.

• Must have experience navigating the above-mentioned longwall equipment through adverse geology conditions.
• Must have experience maintaining the longwall face alignment and proper mining horizon.
• Must be able to work as scheduled and assigned.
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team.
• Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. *Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demands
• Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job.
• Must be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies.

• Excellent interpersonal skills
