Work Schedule:
100% FTE, day shift. Monday through Friday 6: 30AM - 3: 00PM with potential to flex hours depending on workload. No weekends. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:
  • This position may be eligible for a $4, 000 sign-on bonus.
  • Additional components of compensation may include:
    • Evening and night shift differential
    • Weekend differential
    • On-call pay

Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs.

We are seeking a Senior Histology Technician - Surgical Pathology or Dermatopathology to:
  • Provide daily direction to laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures and serve as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment and education.
  • Serve as a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens and innovation in laboratory technology
  • Develop and maintain teaching / training materials.
  • Coordinate work-flow throughout the laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful time frame.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:
    Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses
    Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Preferred


Work Experience

  • 2 years histology or relevant laboratory experience. Required
  • 3 years histology or relevant laboratory experience Preferred


Licenses & Certifications

  • Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
