100 FTE%, Day. Monday - Friday with variable start times. Rotational on-call and Saturday and Sunday day shift coverage. You will work at a variety of locations. Rotate to imaging sites in lead role to support education and training of team as needed.

We are seeking a Lead Cardiac Sonographer to:
  • Motivate, lead others and share knowledge to provide advanced training to current Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers and new staff members.
  • Collaborate between programs to cultivate a dynamic and high functioning team that focuses on providing an optimal cardiovascular imaging experience.
  • Assume a daily leadership role and demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in all applicable clinical settings.
  • Suggest changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement, as well as coordinate training and development of the Imaging Specialists and keep them advised of technological changes.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, care team leaders, staff nurses, other disciplines and patients/families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care and a positive experience to all patients, families and visitors.
  • Support in the development and coordination of new programs and cutting-edge technology and procedures utilizing ultrasound imaging .
  • The team supports a robust structural heart program . The procedures include transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacements, Watchman and MitraClip implantation and alcohol septal ablation procedures.
  • Lead in a Cardiovascular Imaging Lab that is accredited by the IAC - in both Echo and Vascular Imaging at a variety of locations, including a Level 1 Trauma Center, critical care facility and several clinics in the Madison area.

Education:

Minimum -

Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) approved ultrasound program, associate degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, and/ or relevant health sciences field.

Preferred -

Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound, Radiology, Biological Sciences, or relevant health sciences field.

Work Experience:

Minimum -

Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography imaging. Progressive experience with supporting successful completion of an IAC Echo accreditation.

Preferred -

Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in a lab performing echocardiography and vascular imaging. Serving in a lead role in at least one successful completion of IAC accreditation application.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

• Registered in echocardiography ultrasound (RDCS or RCS)

• Basic Life Support/CPR.

Preferred -

Registered in Advanced Cardiac Sonography (ACS)
