Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours/week. 8-hour day shifts scheduled between the hours of 7: 30 AM - 5: 30 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of department.

We are seeking an
Athletic Trainer for the physician practice setting to:
- Be assigned to a variety of providers within these three clinical areas during the work week. Possible work locations included for this position include East Madison Hospital, Science Drive Medical Center and American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI.
- Document clinic patient visit according to documentation policies.
- Perform initial patient assessment including medical history and physical examination.
- Present patient to supervising provider including history, physical exam, pertinent test results, and working diagnosis.
- Collaborate with attending provider to determine appropriate treatment plan, communicate with patient, and provide further home exercise/rehabilitation instruction as needed.
- Provide patient education on the diagnosis and treatment plan outlined by the attending physician.
- Fit the patient with splints, crutches, braces, wraps, and other various durable medical equipment as directed by the attending physician. You will also educate the patient on the appropriate use of equipment.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Athletic Training Required
- Master's Degree in healthcare, athletic training, education or business Preferred
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer in the applicable setting Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Required
- Licensed Athletic Trainer in State of WI. UW Health may allow a one-month grace period to obtain license in extenuating circumstances. No patient care will be performed within the grace period Required
- Outreach - Valid driver's license for use in Wisconsin and current auto insurance Required
- Certification in specialty area of practice Required
