Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all cranes and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.
- Hand finishing and deburring a wide variety of parts for the assembly of tanks.
- Must be able to utilize measuring tools and have experience in finishing and deburring.
- Ability to use a wide variety of basic deburr and hand finish tools.
- Grinds, files, or sands surfaces of metal items using hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of metal finishing techniques for the removal of weld spatter, glass, dirt rust and other foreign materials.
- Application of oil fog, grease, and other coatings to manufactured product.
- Assembly of covers, bolts, washers, nuts, plugs, etc., as required.
- Select files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of material to be removed, finishes specified and steps in finishing processes including buffing or polishing surfaces for pre-paining preparation.
- Visual inspection of manufactured products for discontinuities, or defects like dents, scratches, or breaks in metal and preform rework assignments as required.
- Operation of cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed. Also successfully complete any training, safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring all parts paperwork and documentation is completed properly.
- Ability to read blueprints and have a mechanical background.
- Dye penetrant testing and assisting with the hydro area.
- Trained in deburring, prepping, cleaning of parts and tanks.
- Assist finisher II with packaging.
- This job may require handling of moving of hazardous waste.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Pneumatic tools, as provided by the company for cleaning applications
- Hand tools required for the proper cleaning.
- Impact wrench, air ratchet, crescent wrench, and other tools used to assemble product.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work will in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers. - Must have reading, writing and simple math skills. - Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
