Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Samuel Son, Co (USA) Inc., a leading family-owned North American Metal Processor and Service Center founded in 1855, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator at our Marshfield, WI location.

Our Shipping & Receiving Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping materials moving safely and cost effectively throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois.

This role provides a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual who enjoys working in both office and plant environments, split 40% office and 60% plant operations within our two plants in Marshfield, WI.

Job Type: Full Time, typical 40-42 hours per week

Location: Marshfield, WI

Schedule: 8: 00 to 4: 30 M-F, occasional OT as required

Responsibilities:

  • Execute safety, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Receive inbound materials into our system and assist with truck unloading as necessary.
  • Prepare daily customer shipment paperwork.
  • Enter proof of deliveries and material test reports into the Laser Vault system.
  • Maintain customer/vendor files in accordance with document retention policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to determine shipment priorities and production schedules.
  • Provide required paperwork to the accounting department for billing purposes.
  • Coordinate with freight companies as needed to ensure the most cost-effective shipments.
  • Assist in the coordination and the loading of trucks as needed.
  • Provide production assistance to the Ops Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and Material Handlers.
  • Initiate action to reject and prevent non-conforming materials from entering production.
  • Actively participate in our Joint Health & Safety Committee ensuring safety as a top priority during production.
  • Assist our Operations Manager in coordinating Monthly Safety Talks, Safety Contacts, Hazard Recognitions, Risk Assessments and maintaining calibration records.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other production equipment.
  • Assist in various duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong work ethic centered on integrity, agility, and ownership.
  • Previous forklift experience required, additional crane experience a plus.
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse or distribution.
  • Experience with freight scheduling, LTL, dedicated loads or broker coordination.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working both physically and administratively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, any AS400 or ERP experience a plus.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for multiple hours in the plant.
