Eau Claire Truck & Trailer, part of Midwest Star Group, is looking for aHeavy-Duty Trailer Technician / Mechanic to join our Eau Claire team. This is a hands-on position responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing commercial trailers and related equipment. We're open to candidates with previous trailer or heavy-duty repair experience, as well as mechanically inclined individuals who have a strong foundation and want to continue developing their skills. What You'll Do: Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain commercial trailersPerform brake, suspension and air-system repairsDiagnose and repair trailer lighting and electrical systemsService wheel bearings, axles and related componentsPerform tire service, repair and replacementService and repair liftgates and other trailer componentsRepair trailer floors, roofs, doors and structural componentsAssist with welding, fabrication and custom repairsPerform preventative maintenance and safety inspectionsAssist with DOT inspections based on experience/qualificationIdentify needed repairs and clearly communicate findingsMaintain accurate documentation of work performedMaintain an organized, safe and clean work areaAssist with parts, materials and general shop needs as necessarySupport other technicians and shop operations to keep work moving efficientlyOccasionally assist with roadside or emergency repairs as needed
