Job Description
Midwest Engineered Systems, Inc. is hiring a Automation Service Technician in Waukesha, WI. This is a full-time position.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings. Performs in-house testing on control components and systems; performs equipment tests at vendor site as needed. Performs on-site set-up, programming, and training. Provides necessary robotics training on automated systems to customer personnel and supports customer training efforts. Provides accurate robot documentation of automated systems. Supports customer automation systems both remotely and onsite as needed Maintains a strong company presence and positive working relationship with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and co-workers to accomplish smooth system start-ups. Performs field service duties as assigned. Performs preventative maintenance on customer equipment as assigned; follows all Preventive Maintenance programs. Completes detailed reports and other paperwork. Follows up on completed work with customers and other departments to ensure resolution. Completes all assigned training plans. Travel required, up to 30% annually Stays current on new developments in the industry. Complies with all quality and safety regulations, programs, policies, and procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned. Robotic & Programming Familiarity with industrial robots such as ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, and Panasonic. Creates, modifies, and troubleshoots programming for various robots such as ABB, Fanuc, and Kuka. Modifies existing control systems and robot software, in-house or in the field, as needed. Plans and develops offline robot programs using 3D simulation software. Initializes and installs software on robots; sets up robot user frames and TCPs (Tool Center Points). Verifies and touches up offline robot path programming, I/O, and logic. Performs PLC and robot code troubleshooting and debugging.
