Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.
  • Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.
  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
  • Perform or assist with the make-ready and operation of the offset printing press.
  • Set up the press feeder and keep it running properly.
  • Install the proper inks in the correct press units and maintains their levels during the press run.
  • Maintain the fountain solution levels.
  • Stage stock in preparation to run jobs.
  • Must be qualified to operate Toppy skid turner.
  • Set up the coating unit with the proper coating.
  • Adjust press throughout the run to maintain position and registration.
  • Clean and gum the plates after the press run.
  • Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the pressman.
  • Ability to act as a backup Press Operator in all functions of the Press Operator position.
  • Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area.
  • Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands.
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
  • Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams.
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
