Description:

The Logistics Intern at Menasha Packaging will assist the Logistics/Procurement Team with projects. This year-round internship offers flexible scheduling during the academic year, with the potential for part-time work while attending school and multi-year engagement. The role requires in-office work with full-time hours while school is not in session during the summer, with flexibility for remote part-time work during the school year depending on location.

Areas of Learning/Responsibilities
  • Collect and organize business data to generate reports and perform analysis, including but not limited to cost savings initiatives, company spend, and performance metrics.
  • Use SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other business intelligence (BI) tools to create visualizations such as charts, dashboards, and trend analyses that turn data into actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Support the implementation of a new Transportation Management System (TMS) across the organization by assisting with project tasks, testing, documentation, and training materials. Interns should be adaptable to new technologies and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Help to prepare for and participate in supplier negotiations including Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Assist in managing supplier relationships
  • Perform updates and maintenance for logistics routing guides, certificates of insurance, and other supporting materials and or contracts
  • Coordinate freight invoice payment and auditing of invoices
  • Provide freight quotes to various internal departments
  • Coordinate transportation to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods
  • Maintain purchasing policies and standard operating procedures manuals
  • Participate in staff meetings

You will gain a solid working knowledge of the SAP system and be introduced to business intelligence platforms such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). You will have the opportunity to build on artificial intelligence (AI) skills. Projects and tasks will be assigned to help you strengthen your proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization, and analytical thinking. You'll engage in day-to-day business activities, collaborating with cross-functional departments, purchasing teams, and external suppliers. Additionally, you'll have the option to job shadow other business areas to broaden your exposure. This position also offers the chance to build personal confidence in a business setting and develop your written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business (open to all business majors, however the role provides direct experience for Supply Chain Management, Accounting and Finance majors)
  • Open to learning and exploring a variety of Procurement/Supply Chain business areas
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and business skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High degree of efficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Confident problem solver and self-motivated
  • Value teamwork, diversity, and integrity
