Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor work areas to ensure all employees are working safely.
  • Provide daily coaching and feedback to all department employees.
  • Increase overall productivity to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with other leaders in regards to manufacturing and quality decisions.
  • Assign work and monitor production orders as they arrive in department.
  • Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins, etc.
  • Author quality response forms.
  • Coordinate overtime postings/schedules.
  • Serve as communication liaison with 2nd shift Area Manager and 3rd Shift Supervisor.
  • Coordinate quality concerns with quality personnel or Customer Service.
  • Provide answers and make decisions related to production and quality.
  • Schedule production and monitor orders to increase overall productivity and quality while simultaneously meeting efficiency goals and customer commitments.
  • Participate in daily scheduling meetings with other lead people to discuss priorities, rush, etc.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities.
  • Enhance internal and external department communication toward creating a cohesive work environment.
  • Participate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed to communicate policy, revisions, general updates, etc.
  • Provide backup ECATS responsibilities and resolve issues with Payroll when necessary.
  • Assist the Department Area Manager on the following areas: weekly/daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaints.
  • Provide input into employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbook.
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors.


Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams.
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
  • Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and understanding of an ERP system.

  • 2pm-10pm Mon-Fri
