Description:
Essential Functions: - Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor work areas to ensure all employees are working safely.
- Provide daily coaching and feedback to all department employees.
- Increase overall productivity to meet customer requirements.
- Work with other leaders in regards to manufacturing and quality decisions.
- Assign work and monitor production orders as they arrive in department.
- Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins, etc.
- Author quality response forms.
- Coordinate overtime postings/schedules.
- Serve as communication liaison with 2nd shift Area Manager and 3rd Shift Supervisor.
- Coordinate quality concerns with quality personnel or Customer Service.
- Provide answers and make decisions related to production and quality.
- Schedule production and monitor orders to increase overall productivity and quality while simultaneously meeting efficiency goals and customer commitments.
- Participate in daily scheduling meetings with other lead people to discuss priorities, rush, etc.
- Identify and implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities.
- Enhance internal and external department communication toward creating a cohesive work environment.
- Participate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed to communicate policy, revisions, general updates, etc.
- Provide backup ECATS responsibilities and resolve issues with Payroll when necessary.
- Assist the Department Area Manager on the following areas: weekly/daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaints.
- Provide input into employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbook.
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors.
Education: - High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business.
- Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed.
- Ability to effectively work in teams.
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
- Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and understanding of an ERP system.
