Description:

The Technical Design Assistant helps with the coordination and organization of the Lands’ End technical design process, ensuring products are consistent with quality standards, fit, and construction. You will work closely with all other levels of Technical Design staff in moving samples through the production life cycle within calendar deadlines.
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule fittings primarily for Women’s and Men’s categories. Onboard new fit models and maintain fit room cleanliness. Launder fit garments and manage fit model travel invoicing and purchase orders.
  • Evaluate samples for construction, measurements, and appearance against specifications. Check in, prepare, and organize samples for fittings across multiple categories. Ship samples to vendors as needed and manage sample purging.
  • Request and receive stock transfers, verifying accuracy. Distribute or return stock as appropriate. Print and organize measurement sheets.
  • Assist in writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain documentation on SharePoint and ensure updates are current.
  • Create, update, and maintain product specifications in the development system.
  • Gather product research and information for Technical Designers. Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve inquiries. Perform additional tasks as directed by the Technical Designers.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient with PC-based applications, including spreadsheets and internet tools
  • Experience with product development applications helpful (Adobe Illustrator and PLM)
  • Strong math skills, the ability to work with fractions and percents.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be self-directed
