Description:

As a Design Assistant, you will support the Design team in all aspects of the product development process. This includes creating technical illustrations, preparing seasonal design boards, maintaining accurate product data, and communicating with vendors to ensure timely and high-quality execution of design concepts.

Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Assist designers in developing seasonal presentation boards and product previews to communicate initial design concepts and line direction.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical illustrations in the design management system for internal teams and vendor communication.
  • Prepare and update seasonal style cards, ensuring consistency in color, fabric, and product details across all lines.
  • Participate in sample evaluations for construction, fit, and color; update styles based on feedback.
  • Collaborate with vendors to communicate design, pattern, and trim specifications, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Coordinate with color resources for lap dips, yarn dyes, and specialty color naming.
  • Monitor and ensure quality and color accuracy of trims, playing a key role in trim detail management.
  • Support designers in creating CAD sheets for all pattern work.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of designs, colors, trims, and fabrics.
  • Meet deadlines while adapting to shifting priorities and incoming requests.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in MAC OS and design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Basic knowledge of textiles, including fabric construction and application, a plus.
  • Background in design or art, a plus.
