Description:

Plant Project Engineer

The Plant Project Engineer will:
  • Lead the plant effort to, organize, maintain, and prioritize the plant master capital project list.
  • Be the plants liaison to communicate any changes in plant priorities, and/or changes to the master capital project list to Corporate Engineering.
  • Work closely with Plant Managers and cross functional plant teams to identify annual plant MRO needs; and work closely with the Plant Managers to monitor adherence to budgets.
  • Assist Corporate Engineering and provide plant Engineering support for R & D and Corporate Strategic lead projects.
  • Manage internal and external resources, including the planning, execution, implementation, commissioning and hand off of plant lead projects.
  • Work with plant operations and plant/ corporate functions related to plant, Quality, Safety, Environmental, and sustainability projects.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, innovations, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead in the identification, development and execution of plant/ facility upgrades.
  • Provide plant Project Engineering technical leadership as needed to support ongoing plant operations.


Required Education & Experience:
  • 2- year degree required in engineering or related field
  • 4-year degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years experience in maintenance, project management, or dairy manufacturing


Required Competencies & Other Skills:
  • Strong knowledge and experience regarding principles and practices of food (Dairy) manufacturing, including: Sanitary design, GMPs, food safety, quality, manufacturing concept highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of USDA Dairy and 3A requirements highly preferred
  • Strong communication & collaboration
  • Experience in capital equipment selection, scoping, bidding and execution (including budgeting responsibilities)
  • Experience in Capital project Management, concept thru implementation
