Overview

FLSA: Non-Exempt. This administrative support position operates within the Long-Term Care Campuses of La Crosse County, with a primary focus on recruitment and talent acquisition activities, including operational tasks related to maintaining human resources information systems (HRIS). The role also functions as a valued voice regarding department innovation, organizational transformation, change management, and culture.

This role acts as a self-leader by identifying and driving workplace strategies and initiatives. Employee is selected and supervised by the HR operational leader in Long-Term Care and exercises independent judgment once gaining experience on the job.

Location: Successful candidates will be scheduled to work at both the Hillview Health Care Campus (3501 Park Lane Drive, La Crosse, WI) and the Lakeview Health Care Campus (962 Garland Street East, West Salem, WI) on a rotating or as-needed basis.

Essential Job Functions

Performs HRIS configuration and maintenance. Enters and retrieves data and prepares reports and other documents.

Processes transactions within internal systems as well as vendor systems. Drives own development.

Provides customer service for internal and external customers, responds to email, answers phone, answers routine questions and/or connects customers to appropriate resources.

Acts with integrity and builds trust with the HR team members and customers.

Works with internal and external business partners to ensure quality customer service.

Leads self to recognize, communicate, and make recommendations for improvement of processes and procedures.

Drives and leads key strategies and initiatives within HR.

Participates in meetings and provides perspective on various project initiatives. Manages self-emotions effectively and manages the emotions of others.

Physical demands: Large percentage of time is spent sitting at desk, using oral communication, judgment, hearing, near vision, fingering for keyboarding and calculators, reading and writing. Handles telephones, office equipment, papers and manuals, etc., lifts files, copy paper and other office materials. Sits, walks, stands, bends and reaches intermittently throughout the day. Occasionally moves about the building and travels to other offices or sites for meetings.

Training, Experience and Other Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited high school with a strong preference for advanced education in business or human resources.

Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources.

Requires initiative and goal-minded thinking, with a desire for advancement of self and business outcomes.

Must have experience and skills using a variety of computer programs including HRIS and Microsoft products.
