Description:

Georgia Pacific is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring quality metrics for daily operations. The individual in this role will ensure integrity, effective sustainability, maintenance, and pursuit of continuous improvements of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) System, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Product Stewardship program.

We plan to coordinate a rotation with 3 of our facilities to help the ideal candidate learn our business: Darlington, SC; Green Bay, WI; and Muskogee, OK.

What You Will Do

  • Monitor and analyze quality performance and inform Facility Quality Manager of improvement opportunities.
  • Build capabilities within the department by sharing quality knowledge, validating the integrity of testing data, and driving the verification of quality systems - i.e. physical testing, visual inspections, compliance requirements.
  • Partner with employees throughout the facility and Georgia-Pacific to share knowledge and build a transformational quality system that achieves our vision.
  • Oversee the maintenance of testing laboratories and equipment - ensure the room conditions meet acceptable TAPPI standards, the calibration of all testing equipment is completed timely, and address any out of tolerance issues.
  • Investigate unplanned quality events by supporting operations on Root Cause Analysis' (RCAs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented that address the root cause to mitigate future risks.
  • Help investigate off quality claims and complaints to ensure we are delivering timely resolutions and satisfying our customer requirements.


Who You Are

• Enrolled in a degree or alternative program (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.).

• Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2025.

• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

• Enrolled in a Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering degree program.
