Summary - basic function of the role

Co-ops at ENERPAC receive meaningful and robust hands-on work assignments that vary in variety - from tooling, fixturing coordinating maintenance work, 3D design, and Lean Events. They build their knowledge and experience of our products along with a small community of fellow intern students onsite at ENERPAC .

You will provide Engineering support for production - improving current fixturing by coming up with solutions to support operations improvements to address and improve safety, quality, delivery and/or cost concerns.

You will directly support existing product assembly and weigh and test opportunities to improve the operation, in addition to new product development projects. Focus on assembly process design and documentation, including the design, procurement, and fabrication for any supporting tooling and equipment.

You will help to drive continuous improvement within the plant and also across other departments including leading and participating within project teams.

Shift: Monday - Friday; 8 - 4: 30 pm or 7: 30 - 4: 00 pm; flexible

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Soliciting, support and addressing CI ideas generated from production/product assembly areas.
  • Preparing studies and reports for estimates, progress and evaluation.
  • Daily interaction with Quality, Production Supervision, and Supply Chain in conjunction with supporting production needs.
  • Verifying all work on projects including layouts, details, calculations, etc. for accuracy in support of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Support design for manufacturability and test with original designs or adaptations for fixtures and tooling.

Skills and Competencies
  • You will work with an experienced group of Manufacturing Engineers willing to help you learn and gain additional skills on projects
  • You will utilize your collaborative work style to work cross-functionally with a diverse group on projects, but also work independently and drive prioritization of tasks and projects.
  • You will work closely with the production floor staff to problem solve daily operational concerns.

Education and Experience
  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering program, with a preferred focus in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong teamwork attitude with a willingness to learn!

Physical Demands

Employee will lift 1-30 pounds intermittently and may have to lift documents/work materials up to 40 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk to a variety of primary work locations. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.

Work Environment

Employee will work in a manufacturing environment. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in the office and potentially elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
