We're seeking a Technical Service Engineer who thrives in the field, excels at troubleshooting and diagnostics, and takes pride in getting customers back up and running better than before.
Location: Sturtevant, WI
What You'll Do: - Install, commission, and maintain equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Utilize software knowledge to:
- Update embedded code (firmware, assembly code) for equipment calibration, optimization, or bug fixes
- Collaborate with peers on root cause analysis of software/hardware issues
- Train customers on operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
- Document service activities, including field reports, code modifications, and parts usage
- Provide feedback from field issues to engineering and product development teams
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and site regulations
- Up to 50% travel domestically and internationally (as required, sometimes on short notice) to support customer installations and service calls
What We're Looking For: - Experience in field service, technical support, or a similar customer-facing technical role
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of assembly language programming (x86, ARM, or similar microcontrollers)
- Familiarity with firmware, low-level embedded programming, and C/C++
- Knowledge of industrial automation, motion control, or drive systems
- Experience with embedded systems, PLCs, and industrial control hardware
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field environments
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or technical degree/related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, including customer-facing and/or field service work
