Competitive Pay scale per the WI Apprenticeship program standards. Apprentices will receive regular increases as progression through the program is completed. Apprentices, in addition to receiving practical on-the-job training and experience, shall also be required to attend classes for related and supplemental instruction for whatever amount of time deemed necessary.

Shift:

Shift assignments will vary based on journeyman availability, training requirements, work demand and related instruction schedules.

  • 1st Shift (6: 30 am – 3: 00pm) Monday – Friday
  • 2nd Shift (2: 30 pm- 11: 00pm) Monday – Friday
  • 3rd Shift (10: 30 pm- 7: 00 am) Sunday – Thursday

Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time Tool and Die Maker apprentice to gain experience in the tool making trade. During the Apprenticeship, the Apprentice will receive work experience and job related education in all phases of the occupation, including safe work practices, necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of the trade.

The Apprenticeship Contract outlines the related education that supplements the on-the-job learning. It is through the combination of both the on-the-job learning and the related education that the apprentice can reach the skilled level of the occupation.

Essential Functions Include:

Apprentices will receive training in the following work experiences. They will be transferred from one operation to another as proficiency warrants.

  • Precision measurement and inspection
  • Milling
  • Drilling
  • Turning
  • Grinding
  • Cut-Off
  • Materials and Metallurgy
  • Jigs and Fixtures
  • Die Making
  • Bench Work/Layout
  • Wire EDM Operation

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry over 25 pounds frequently.

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, dirt, oil and grease, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable.
