ABOUT THE ROLE

The HR Generalist will be responsible for all daily Human Resources activities including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, attendance reporting, employee engagement, managing plant communications, and administrative support to the HR function. Provides excellent customer service to the employee base as well as handling employee concerns in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintain personnel records, disciplinary documentation, and attendance for hourly personnel in compliance with regulatory and contractual guidelines.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding medical, dental, optical, pre-paid legal and 401(k) benefits.
  • Supports employee recruitment to include scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding activities for selected individuals.
  • Update and maintain communication boards as applicable.
  • Coordination of employee behavior recognition awards, employee engagement and social events.
  • Inputs, maintains and updates HRIS/Payroll and employee benefit systems as needed for hourly employees.
  • Assist HR Manager with maintaining records and claims for other benefit programs as needed (e.g., workers’ compensation, short-term disability, FMLA, etc.).
  • Promote the company’s operational visions, values, goals and behaviors.
  • Participate in company programs including 5S, meetings, training, etc.
  • Participate in the company’s health, safety, environmental, and operational programs.
  • Completes work assignments with accuracy, sense of urgency, and in a safe manner in accordance with established standards, and all applicable Regulations / Legislations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Flex shift hours may be required to support role responsibilities over 3 shift operation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for this role. The ideal candidate should be able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information sharing.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities. The agility to quickly adjust to new situations.
  • A comprehensive understanding of benefit programs and involvement in open enrollment at a site level.

    Experience

    Required
    • 2 - 3 years: Progressive HR experience including recruiting, new hire orientations and onboarding activities.
    Preferred
    • 2 - 3 years: Previous HR experience in manufacturing or a similar industry. experience in supporting safety initiatives, and/or employee engagement experience.

    Education

    Preferred
    • Bachelors or better in Human Resource Administration or related field
    • Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field
