Job Description

BREMER MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC. is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor in Elkhart Lake, WI. This is a full-time position.

Serve as the working leader of the maintenance department and lead by example on the plant floor.Spend approximately 70% of the workday performing hands-on maintenance work and approximately 30% supervising, planning, scheduling, purchasing, documenting, and coordinating maintenance activities.Prioritize breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and project work to support production schedules and minimize equipment downtime.Lead, coach, train, and develop maintenance employees through daily direction and hands-on support.Develop and maintain routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance schedules for production equipment and facility systems.Work closely with Production and Engineering to troubleshoot chronic equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on equipment installations, machine modifications, automation projects, facility improvements, and capital projects.Evaluate and purchase materials and replacement parts required to meet maintenance needs and maintain an appropriate inventory of critical spare parts.Coordinate outside contractors and vendors when specialized service or additional resources are required.Identify and implement safety, reliability, quality, and productivity improvements throughout the facility.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, repair history, and other required documentation.Other duties as assigned. Hands-on maintenance responsibilities include: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, production machines, and related systems.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and complete repairs in a safe and timely manner.Dismantle machines and equipment to access, inspect, repair, or replace defective components.Observe equipment in operation, review failure symptoms, and use appropriate diagnostic tools to identify the cause of equipment problems.Repair or replace worn or defective pumps, piping, hoses, valves, cylinders, bearings, drives, sensors, controls, and other machine components.Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints, schematics, equipment manuals, and drawings.Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment and facility systems within the employees training and qualifications.Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, grinding, and general metalworking required to repair or improve equipment.Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, saws, and other shop equipment to make or repair parts as needed.Support installation, commissioning, startup, relocation, and modification of production equipment.Perform basic plumbing, HVAC, utility, and facility maintenance as needed.Create rough drawings, sketches, or measurements needed to fabricate structures, guards, brackets, machine components, or other improvements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area and ensure maintenance work is completed in accordance with company safety requirements.Respond to urgent equipment issues and support after-hours or emergency maintenance needs when required.
