Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble, inspect, and evaluate pumps and components to identify wear, damage, and failure causes.
Repair and rebuild pumps including centrifugal, diaphragm, gear, progressive cavity, submersible, and vertical turbine models.
Replace bearings, seals, gaskets, shafts, impellers, and other components as needed.
Use measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure equipment meets manufacturer tolerances and specifications.
Clean and prepare components for reassembly.
Document findings, measurements, and repair details accurately on service reports.
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
Operate shop equipment such as forklift, overhead cranes, and sandblasters when necessary.
Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status and any issues encountered.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist with inventory management and parts ordering as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in mechanical repair is a plus.
Minimum 1 year of experience in pump or mechanical equipment repair.
Strong knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to lift and move heavy components (up to 50 lbs. regularly, more with assistance or equipment).
Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
