Description:

Responsible for network development and maintenance tasks for the local, metro, wide area and wireless networks of the Vancouver Clinic. With direction, the technician will implement, maintain and support network equipment and technologies with an emphasis on maintaining and enhancing system reliability across supported platforms. The technician will troubleshoot system failures, identify network performance opportunities for improvement and ensure that information security guidelines are implemented and maintained as designed.

Must be a resident of Washington or Oregon!

Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. Must be flexible and able to provide routine after-hours maintenance and emergency support. Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

Hiring Range: $84, 000 to $115, 000, commensurate with work experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implements network equipment and technologies as designed to meet performance, security and engineering standards
  • Monitors LAN, MAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure and resolves issues as identified
  • Evaluates network performance and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensures adequate backups and logging are occurring for all supported network infrastructure including switches, servers, and network appliances
  • Organizes and schedules upgrades and maintenance for supported equipment and services
  • Manages move/add/change activities for network services including cable plant, switch capacity and provisioning
  • Maintains documentation to support all supported network infrastructure installation and changes.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral form.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors or technical degree in related field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years IT systems support experience required.
  • Network systems support preferred.
  • IT certifications such as Security +, CCNA, ACA, Network + are preferred.
  • Experience with the following preferred: Aruba/Juniper switching and routing, Palo Alto Firewall administration, Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, Cisco or similar network switches and routers, Aruba Wireless management, VMWARE, Citrix, Deep Packet, analysis (tcpdump/wireshark), Infoblox.


Pay Range:
$83, 795.00 - $125, 692.00

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
