The Vancouver Clinic Medical Assistant (MA) Apprentice program is an on-the-job, earn-as-you-learn training program designed to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to complete requirements needed to obtain a Washington State, Medical Assistant-Certified credential. The Vancouver Clinic Apprentice program is approved by the State of Washington Department of Health as equivalent to an MA-C program at a community or technical college.

The MA-Apprentice pay rate starts at a non-negotiable $18.43/hour and increases to $19.48/hour when completing the last 1, 000 hours of on-the-job training. Additionally, MA-Apprentice receive a $1, 000 bonus after successful completion of three months and $1, 000 bonus after successful completion of nine months and must commit to service agreement with bonus repayment terms.

Departments supporting February MA Apprentice Program: Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency, OB/GYN, Family Medicine.

Program Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old, or older with High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), or obtain within 60-days of transfer or hire
• Demonstrate commitment to program and service agreement

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
