We are seeking a Production Supervisor, to join our hard working and fast-paced leadership team. The Production Supervisor will assist in a variety of positions or tasks with the production of a variety of products. All work will be performed in accordance with SQF Food Safety procedures. Job tasks may change from day to day depending upon production needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads effective distribution programs in coordination with the Production Manager.
  • Provides administrative oversight of all production initiatives.
  • Supervises, trains, develop and mentor employees on production functions and to create a common goal and attitude that will achieve operating objectives with a team concept.
  • Responsible for employee's Time and Attendance records. Facilitates departmental trainings.
  • Write, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments within the bakery to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Makes Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) recommendations.
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and meet service levels, conducting employee performance reviews and corrective action as needed.
  • Ensures staff work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
  • Accurately record any product analysis data or counts, as required by SQF Food Safety Procedures
  • Maintain workflow from production conveyers. Training and scheduling shifts.
  • Directs all activities within assigned area to operating standards within approved staffing limits.
  • Assists in solving technical problems which may affect quality or the continuity of the operation.
  • Models appropriate leadership behaviors and communication with all personnel at all times.
  • Reports to Production Manager any stoppage, inconsistency of dough, and equipment problems that may occur.
  • Enforces GMPs and company policy.
  • Assures compliance with government regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred. Food manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Completion of ABI training courses.
  • Thorough knowledge of all bakery operations including: procedures, scheduling, safety, etc.
  • Experience with bakery SQF procedures, documentation and audits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with excellent interpersonal skills to develop trusting relationships.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable with presenting to large and small groups.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive change.
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs, especially Excel.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related supervisory or Lead Position experience.
  • Proven management or supervisory skills to train, direct and/or lead team or shift of assigned employees.
  • Ability to train and hold accountable, employees in bakery production facility.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment.
  • Ability to adjust schedule as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, which could include working hours outside of a typical day shift schedule.
