Union Gospel Mission Association of Spokane LLC is hiring a LIFE Recovery Program Manager/Next Steps Manager in Spokane, WA. This is a full-time position.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Life Recovery Program Manager/Next Steps Manager provides leadership and oversight for the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the Men's LIFE Recovery and Next Steps Programs. The Manager leads staff and volunteers, oversees program implementation and client management, and works collaboratively across the ministry to support safety, recovery, spiritual growth, and long-term life transformation. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that program practices reflect UGM's mission, Statement of Faith, Core Values, Grace Based Ministry philosophy, and established recovery processes. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Key Result Area #1: LIFE Recovery Program Leadership Provide leadership and oversight for the Men's LIFE Recovery Program, including Men's Next Steps and After Care programs and other support services ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with UGM's mission and program expectations. Supervise and develop LIFE Recovery Counselors, the Vocational Advancement and After Care Coordinator through regular one-on-ones, performance development, annual reviews, and ongoing accountability. Participate in the interview, hiring, and separation process for LIFE Recovery staff. Facilitate recovery team and program meetings and provide leadership in addressing program and resident concerns. Monitor staff training and ensure counselors, vocational/after care staff, interns, and volunteers are appropriately trained and equipped. Ensure the LIFE Recovery Program integrates Biblical truth, Grace Based Ministry, Genesis, the 12-Step process, and other approved recovery components.Oversee Individual Recovery Plans and monitor resident progress toward identified goals, benchmarks, and phase advancement. Teach one LIFE Recovery Program class and participate in appropriate residential and community activities. Ensure staff utilize Waypoint and Outcome Based Management practices, including SMART goals, PDPs, SWOTs, one-on-ones, and other established processes. Work with the Men's Director and other department leaders to maintain consistency and alignment of program services throughout UGM. Key Result Area #2: Next Steps Program Leadership Provide leadership and oversight of the Next Steps Program, ensuring its curriculum, processes, and services are aligned with the Men's, WRC, and CDA LIFE Recovery Programs. Supervise and develop Next Steps team; staff, volunteers, and interns, providing training, support, and accountability. Oversee the intake, interview, assessment, and placement process for individuals entering Next Steps. Provide oversight of case management to ensure clients receive appropriate services, resources, and support toward identified goals. Develop and maintain relationships with UGM Rescue programs, regional legal systems, treatment providers, and other community partners to identify and recruit individuals interested in long-term recovery. Implement applicable Strategic Plan objectives and participate in ongoing program development and evaluation. Key Result Area #3: Resident/Client Management & Program Outcomes Ensure each client has an individualized recovery/treatment plan with appropriate goals and measurable benchmarks addressing recovery, spiritual, emotional, behavioral, vocational, legal, relational, and other identified needs. Monitor resident/client progress and hold staff accountable for timely follow-up, documentation, and achievement of identified outcomes. Participate in accountability and focus meetings and coordinate appropriate staff and resident involvement when needed. Ensure resident/client records, case notes, assessments, and Waypoint information are accurate, current, and completed within required timeframes. Review and make decisions regarding Next Steps passes and exception requests. Monitor appropriate accountability regarding money management, medication compliance, legal obligations, smoking cessation, and other identified program requirements. Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of LIFE Recovery and Next Steps curriculum, ensuring it is consistent with UGM expectations and appropriately aligned across Recovery and Rescue programs. Ensure outside service providers are appropriately involved in the client's recovery plan. Review program outcomes and submit required department statistics. Key Result Area #4: Volunteers, Interns & Team Development Provide leadership, support, and direction to volunteers and interns serving within the department. Ensure volunteers and interns receive appropriate orientation, training, supervision, and resources. Ensure volunteers have current job descriptions and clearly understand their role in supporting program objectives. Ensure appropriate documentation is completed by case managers, teachers, Genesis coaches, volunteers, interns, and other direct-contact personnel. Work collaboratively with WRC, WRS, CDA, Rescue, and other department leaders to promote consistency and continuity throughout UGM programs. Key Result Area #5: Communication, Collaboration & Organizational Leadership Promote healthy, affirming, and effective communication among staff, residents, volunteers, and ministry partners. Address conflict in a timely manner using UGM's Peacemaker tools and established processes.Model and promote UGM's Core Values, Grace Based Ministry culture, and a commitment to personal and professional accountability. Maintain effective communication with the Men's Director regarding staff, resident, program, and safety concerns and participate in appropriate resolutions. Communicate effectively and respond to staff, residents, volunteers, and ministry partners in a timely and professional manner. Adhere to UGM policies, procedures, Employee Handbook, and applicable confidentiality requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS: Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100% Work is primarily indoors and may require climbing three flights of stairs, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and going from building to building - Continuously. Requires working with a diverse population, many of whom struggle with homelessness, addiction and other significant life challenges - Continuously. Requires a sustained level of high energy, stamina, and the ability to move about all of the facilities on a regular and ongoing basis - Frequently. Requires the ability to hear, see, and speak clearly - Continuously EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED: Computer, Word, Excel, Waypoint Database, Outlook, Internet, Copier/printer, Phone, Fax, Breathalyzer, and Drug Testing Equipment. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BA or MA degree in Social Work, Human Services, Addiction Studies, Mental Health, Pastoral Counseling or related field - preferred. 5+ year's prior related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
