The Opportunity

Due to growth, our Digital Services team is currently seeking an IoT (Internet of Things) Engineer to be based in Perth, Western Australia. This exciting new career opportunity will see you responsible for the commissioning of our Digital Services offer portfolio as you make an Impact within a growing area of Schneider Electric.

Reporting to our IoT Technical Services Manager, you will play a central role in the set-up and execution of complex technical solutions, collaborating with the wider Pacific Zone Projects and Services team to deploy on-premise and cloud-based software solutions for Energy and Power Management Systems, and Monitoring Systems.

Utilising your background and further developing your professional skills, this diverse role will also see you working with our regional Connected Services Hub teams for the handover and commissioning of our cloud enabled solutions.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • The commissioning and handover of our Digital Services Offer portfolio
  • Installation, provisioning, configuration for a variety of SE products and integration with other systems as well as end-to-end testing and cybersecurity checks
  • Integration between various Schneider and third-party platforms
  • End-to-end testing (participation in SAT and IST activities)
  • Documentation creation and submission (Detail Technical Designs, Functional Designs, Network Diagrams, IST and SAT handover documentation, etc)
  • Handover to our Regional Connected Services Hub when deploying Schneider Services Digital Offers on Customer sites
  • Commissioning the IoT hardware and Software Solutions within IT / OT environment
  • Review customer electrical distribution networks to identify critical assets for condition monitoring


About You

  • Relevant degree qualification, and proven understanding of electrical concepts
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proven knowledge and experience in both Ethernet networks and related Operational Technology (Control System, RTU, Gateway, Energy Automation System)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment communications protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, IEC61850) and passionate about emerging predictive and analytic technologies
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to partner with key stakeholders, ideally within a global or geographically dispersed teams
  • Those with experience in Industrial IoT or Automation will be viewed favourably, as will those with existing knowledge of Schneider EPMS systems (PME / EPO / Citect / AVEVA / EPAS / PLC / Protection Relays)
  • Those with an electrical engineering background or Electrical License will be viewed favourably
