Job Description
S & K Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Aircraft Mechanic III Lead in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time position, and paying $35.00–$43.00/year.
This position is CONTINGENT on contract award. The Aircraft Mechanic III - KC-135 Lead leads contractor mechanics in the performance of KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and documentation at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. This position provides technical guidance to subordinate mechanics, assists with work scheduling and task prioritization, and performs complex aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with approved technical data and contract requirements.

- Lead assigned contractor maintenance personnel in the performance of KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, servicing, and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to Aircraft Mechanic I/II personnel and assist with resolving complex maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with the Site Supervisor, Government maintenance leadership, production control, and COR as directed to prioritize work and support mission requirements.
- Perform, supervise, and inspect complex maintenance tasks involving aircraft structures, engines, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and related aircraft components.
- Interpret and apply technical orders, maintenance manuals, blueprints, drawings, schematics, work instructions, and other approved technical data.
- Assist with shift turnover, daily work status, production updates, and documentation of completed and incomplete work.
- Ensure maintenance actions are properly documented in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems.
- Monitor compliance with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements.
- Assist with onboarding, task familiarization, OJT, and technical mentoring of assigned mechanics.
- Identify and elevate safety concerns, quality issues, technical data concerns, production impacts, and personnel issues.
- Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience on an Air Force wide-body platform, preferably KC-135, or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience leading aircraft maintenance teams and scheduling or prioritizing maintenance tasks is required.
- Experience performing complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation is required.
- Experience providing technical guidance to lower-level mechanics is required.
- A& P certification is preferred but not required.
Licenses/ Certification/ Registration
- Must have a valid clean state driver's license when required by job assignment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel, as required by the contract or task order.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver's license if required.
- Must obtain all certifications and training required to perform assigned duties.
Special knowledge, skills, & abilities
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, technical data use, aircraft documentation, Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, and quality requirements.
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex aircraft maintenance issues and provide practical technical direction.
- Must be able to prioritize workload, coordinate maintenance tasks, and support production schedules.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with mechanics, site leadership, Government maintenance personnel, and company leadership.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Must be able to work day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.
- Must be willing and able to travel TDY as required.
