Patient Ambassador

The Patient Ambassador serves as a member of the patient care team and, when certified as a Nursing Assistant-Certified (CNA), provides non-clinical and delegated patient care support within the scope of certification, helping to ensure an exceptional patient experience while supporting nursing staff and patient comfort needs. Focused primarily on interacting with our patients throughout the day. Ensuring patients and families have access to our core comforts. Those are: Delicious, focused, and healthy meals are ordered and served when the patient wants them.If meals or mealtimes must be altered because of some aspects of clinical care, those reasons will be explained to the patient.Meals and beverages are offered to support a person or family if needed.Ensure that the room is comfortable and tidy.Ensure that patient / patient support person questions are answered in a timely manner. The patient ambassador is also responsible for supporting clinical staff when available. Support includes: Ensuring the nutrition room is well stocked and clean.Stocks other supplies as necessary.Support clinical staff by retrieving meals / beverages if staff is unable to get away for breaks. A key component of this position is communication. The patient ambassador must be in regular contact with both clinical and kitchen staff to ensure the patient is receiving the highest level of service possible. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma / GEDCurrent Washington State Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC/CNA) certification required.Excellent customer service skills, including pleasant and professional communication, adaptive thinking, problem-solving and multi-tasking.Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant oversight.Must be able to function well with multiple teams: clinical staff, physicians, food service, EVS.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required within established departmental timeframe.Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred.Working knowledge of the use and applications of computers.Effective interpersonal communications skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical people within and outside the Hospital.Demonstrated organizational skills including ability to prioritize and develop programs and systems while managing multiple priorities.Excellent interpersonal skills include ability to effectively communicate, lead, and work with individuals with varied levels of education, technical, and social-economic backgrounds.Capable of performing position related physical requirements CLICK HERE for the complete position description
