AIRCRAFT MECHANIC II (23022)

Summary

Supports OID-level maintenance, modification, inspection and repair of active systems in the US Government inventory, on KC-135 aircraft, all systems and subsystems on and off aircraft in accordance with the Air Force technical directives, applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements.

Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting KC-135 aircraft performing maintenance operations at Fairchild AFB, WA and various TDY locations.

Essential Functions
  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Duties
  • OID-level maintenance, modification, inspection and repair
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Document maintenance actions per AFI requirements
Qualifications
  • Aircraft Mechanic II Sheet Metal mechanics shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience on an Air Force Wide-body platform (preferably KC135) or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work, day, swing or mid shift as required
  • SECRET clearance and CAC required
  • Must be able to travel worldwide to support Temporary Duty (TDY) requirements
Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and vision to use tools and inspect aircraft systems. Must be able to work in high-noise environments, wear required PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation
  • $39.58/hour + $2.65 H& W
