Australia’s favourite outdoor cinema is searching for an Assistant Venue Manager to lead operations for Moonlight Cinema Perth, located in the stunning Kings Park. Moonlight Cinema is a summer tradition that combines the magic of film with the buzz of a festival atmosphere. For our guests, it’s more than just movies – it’s a chance to relax under the stars with friends and family. We pride ourselves on respectfully activating green spaces and working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including internal suppliers, sponsors, and our valued Botanic Gardens partners.
About the role
As an Assistant Venue Manager at Moonlight Cinema, you'll work side-by-side with the Venue Manager to deliver seamless operations and an exceptional guest experience. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Venue Manager in overseeing daily operations, including site set-up and pack-down
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of the bump-in and bump-out production schedule
• Support and lead a team of ~35 casual onsite staff
• Recruit, train, and develop staff
• Manage food & beverage operations (ordering, invoice processing, and stock control)
• Oversee sponsorship activations and ensure contractual deliverables are delivered to a high standard
• Prepare rosters and manage timesheets
• Oversee AV operations, including screen and audio set-up and content management
• Implement management plans and ensure WHS compliance
• Work primarily afternoon–evening shifts (with the exception of shifts allocated for administration)
This role is a Fixed-Term, Full Time Contract which will run from 14 October 2025 - 10 April 2026
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a management role
• Previous experience in food and beverage and customer service
• Cinema or event management experience (advantageous)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Initiative, attention to detail, and strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Experience leading and motivating a casual workforce
• Strong stakeholder management skills and time management skills
• A collaborative approach with a can-do attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Required: Current RSA and valid driver's license
