Salary Range: $60, 000 - $65, 000

FLSA: Salary, Non-Exempt

About the Position

The E-Commerce Operations Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of the E-Commerce department by overseeing supervisory staff, driving production performance, and ensuring sales goals and quality standards are met. This position acts as a bridge between strategic goals set by leadership and the daily operations on the floor, helping translate priorities into clear workflows and results.

The Assistant Manager helps foster a high-performance team environment and ensures smooth coordination across listing, shipping, inventory, and fulfillment processes. This role supports the E-Commerce Manager in achieving budget goals and operational excellence.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
    • Lead the execution of the department's operational strategy, ensuring E-Commerce revenue goals and production targets are consistently met.
    • Provide day-to-day leadership to E-Commerce Supervisors and their teams across sorting, listing, shipping, warehouse, order fulfilment, and customer service functions.
    • Oversee daily operations to ensure production and quality standards are met, and hold teams accountable to department benchmarks.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and coach supervisors and staff for performance, productivity, and alignment with department goals.
    • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and performance support across multiple teams.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment aligned with operational standards and safety requirements.
    • Assist in analyzing sales, listing metrics, and inventory data to help achieve sales targets and drive continual improvement.
    • Promote a customer-first approach in all aspects of operations, ensuring consistent, timely, and professional responses to internal and external inquiries.
    • Collaborate with the E-Commerce Manager on initiatives related to product flow, system improvements, team performance, and process optimization.
    • Help manage inventory organization and integrity across platforms and physical space.
    • Actively support implementation of operational changes and new business tools or systems.
    • Enforce company policies and procedures and ensure team compliance with applicable labor and safety regulations.
    • Partner with People Relations as needed to address employee performance or concerns.
    • Take initiative in identifying and solving problems within the workflow.
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; providing coaching and feedback; and resolving issues.
    • This role directly supervises E-Commerce Supervisors and may oversee production staff when needed.
    • Works closely with the E-Commerce Manager and People Relations to promote a supportive and accountable work culture.

Education and Experience
    • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or relevant coursework preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams in a production-driven E-Commerce or similar environment with clear performance metrics and quota-based output.
    • At least 1 year of direct supervisory or team leadership experience.
    • Experience with e-commerce platforms, auctions, shipping operations, or online merchandising strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage time, people, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to coach and motivate others toward performance goals.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
    • Must have valid Washington Driver's License and proof of insurance along with good driving record.

Computer/Technology Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
    • Comfort working in digital systems related to e-commerce, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
    • Ability to learn new technology and software related to listing, shipping, or analytics tools.

Physical Abilities
    • Must be able to lift and carry 35-50 pounds.
    • Must have fine motor control and the ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, and climb ladders frequently.
    • Able to travel across a variety of surfaces and environments.
    • Must maintain reliable attendance and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
