Crisis Mental Health Counselor - Clinician II
Location: Bellingham, WA
Program: 500-21360 - Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT)
Schedule: Full-time (38 hours/week) - Sun - Tues, 12: 00pm - Midnight & , Thurs, 12pm-2pm
Wage: $30.90-$46.22/hr DOE
Licensed Scale: $32.78-$48.65/hr DOE
Respond When It Matters Most - Join Our Frontline Crisis Team
Compass Health is seeking a Clinician II to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) in Bellingham. In this high-impact role, you'll deliver critical, in-the-moment behavioral health services to individuals of all ages experiencing acute mental health crises. You'll work across community settings-including homes, schools, shelters, and public spaces-bringing stability, compassion, and recovery-focused care when and where it's needed most.

This is a full-time float position offering 12-hour shifts and dynamic day-to-day work throughout Whatcom County. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to help individuals navigate mental health crises with dignity and support, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide in-person crisis assessments and stabilization support across community settings
  • Evaluate individuals in acute crisis and coordinate least-restrictive, trauma-informed interventions
  • Partner with first responders, families, and clinical teams to ensure safety and continuity of care
  • Determine need for ITA evaluation, complete affidavits, and participate in court proceedings as required
  • Serve in a rotation for after-hours emergency response, including outreach and de-escalation
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and meet service hour expectations
What You Bring
  • MA/MS/MSW in a Behavioral Science-related field
  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) status per WAC
  • Valid WA State Driver's License, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Training or willingness to obtain in Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care
  • Knowledge of or interest in Evidence-Based Practices
  • Must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire if unlicensed
