Description:
SUMMARY The Access Screener / Scheduler answers incoming calls to screen and schedule clients for behavioral health assessments provided by Compass Health. While the role's responsibilities can be performed from home, we are not offering this as a guaranteed or permanent remote position. Work location may change over time based on operational needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Screens clients requesting services for clinical, financial, and safety considerations.
- Schedules clients for assessments at the appropriate outpatient location using a computerized scheduling system, or provides client with information on how to utilize the open access times at the appropriate location.
- Verifies funding.
- Refers clients to resources outside of Compass Health, if appropriate.
- Collects and enters demographic, clinical, and financial information into the client information system.
- Communicates special needs/special circumstances of referred clients to the appropriate outpatient location.
- Maintains high energy and positive customer-service attitude under stress.
- Manages spreadsheets, tracks pending task items, and follows through on short and long-term tasks and projects.
- Makes reminder calls and/or utilizes the automated reminder call system to ensure clients receive reminders of upcoming appointments.
- Operates within all legal requirements of applicable state and federal laws including confidentiality.
- Works with interpreter and other resources as needed.
- Maintains respectful, customer-friendly relations with clinicians, support staff, managers, vendors, and other service providers.
- Serves as a central point for a variety of agency wide activities, such as processing incoming court orders, physician referrals, etc. Reviews and logs incoming information and routes to the appropriate staff person/office.
- Complies with all accurate and appropriate charting, coding and billing procedures as required by the regulatory organization.
- Provides consumers with information regarding their first appointment as requested.
- Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.
- Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.
- Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.
- Understands and practices safekeeping of client protected health information per Compass Health's HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.
