Wage: $22-$27 DOEDescriptionWe are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Medical Records professional to join our team at Colonial Vista Post Acute. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the management and organization of patient medical records, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with healthcare regulations. You will play a crucial part in supporting our healthcare providers by maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding important patient information. As a Medical Records professional, you will utilize cutting-edge technology to facilitate the effective management of electronic health records (EHR) and assist in the coordination of patient care by providing timely access to essential medical history. Your expertise will not only contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facility but will also enhance the patient experience by ensuring that staff have the information they need to provide high-quality care. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of medical terminology, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality. Responsibilities- Maintain and organize patient medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of medical records by performing regular audits.
- Input and update patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems promptly and accurately.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Retrieve and prepare medical records for healthcare providers, accommodating requests in a timely manner.
- Assist in the implementation of new medical record management technologies and procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to facilitate the flow of information and support optimal patient care.
- ICD 10 coding
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management is a plus.
- Proven experience managing medical records or similar administrative duties in a healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of ICD-10 coding
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showcasing a proactive approach to problem-solving.
