We are seeking a dedicated Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team at Colonial Vista Post Acute. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and purposeful recreational activities. This position requires a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about promoting physical and mental well-being. You will work closely with the Activity Coordinator to implement a variety of programs that cater to our residents' interests and needs. Your contributions will help foster a sense of community and belonging among participants, ensuring they have meaningful and enjoyable experiences in our facility. Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities and programs.
• Support the Activity Coordinator in executing daily schedules and events.
• Engage and encourage client participation in various fitness, arts, and social activities.
• Monitor client progress and participation levels, providing feedback to the Activity Coordinator.
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with health guidelines.
• Assist in creating and distributing promotional materials for upcoming events.
• Build strong relationships with clients, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health and wellness is a plus.
• Previous experience in a recreational, educational, or health-related role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and staff.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards clients.
• Basic knowledge of health, wellness, and fitness principles.
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
