DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Activities Assistant to join our dynamic team at Colonial Vista Post Acute. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and purposeful recreational activities. This position requires a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about promoting physical and mental well-being. You will work closely with the Activity Coordinator to implement a variety of programs that cater to our residents' interests and needs. Your contributions will help foster a sense of community and belonging among participants, ensuring they have meaningful and enjoyable experiences in our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to connect with individuals across diverse backgrounds and demonstrate creativity in planning and executing activities. Additionally, you will monitor participation and gather feedback to continually improve our offerings. Responsibilities- Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational activities and programs.
- Support the Activity Coordinator in executing daily schedules and events.
- Engage and encourage client participation in various fitness, arts, and social activities.
- Monitor client progress and participation levels, providing feedback to the Activity Coordinator.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with health guidelines.
- Assist in creating and distributing promotional materials for upcoming events.
- Build strong relationships with clients, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health and wellness is a plus.
- Previous experience in a recreational, educational, or health-related role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards clients.
- Basic knowledge of health, wellness, and fitness principles.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
