Join our team to become part of a dynamic, forward-thinking organization shaping the future of flow control solutions.

Position Summary:

The Shop & Field Service Technician is responsible for the mechanical assembly, testing, repair, and service of industrial valve, actuator, pump, and heat trace systems—both in-house and at customer locations. This role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and professionalism in customer-facing environments. Tasks include diagnostics, maintenance, and regulatory documentation, with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and reliability.

Core Responsibilities:

Assembly, Testing & Repair (Shop-Based): The technician performs mechanical assembly, testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of valve, actuator, and pump systems using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electrical testing equipment. Work includes disassembling and inspecting equipment, replacing components, reassembling systems, and verifying performance. Precision tools are used to meet equipment tolerances, and tasks are guided by technical drawings, schematics, pump curves, and OEM manuals.

Field Service & Customer Support: This role provides on-site support for the installation, diagnostics, and repair of industrial systems. Technicians work directly with customers to assess problems, deliver solutions, and ensure high-quality service, while representing the company professionally in the field. Service work may take place in confined spaces, outdoors, or around industrial equipment and hazardous materials, requiring proper PPE. The position includes participation in an on-call rotation to support emergency repairs and may involve occasional overnight travel.

Quality, Safety & Professionalism: Technicians are expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, both in-house and on customer sites, following all established safety protocols and completing required documentation. Safe use of tools and equipment is essential in both standard and hazardous environments. The role requires physical readiness, including the ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and a strong commitment to reliability, judgment, and work ethic. Depending on experience, technicians may assist with training others, including team members or customers.

Documentation & Communication: Clear and timely documentation of all service, assembly, and repair work is essential, including logs, equipment records, inventory notes, and any required compliance documentation. Effective communication with internal teams and customers is expected, including providing status updates and technical feedback. Technicians will also use ERP systems and basic software tools to complete transactions and support documentation processes.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiar with electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters).
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in shop and field settings.
  • Effective communicator with a professional customer-facing demeanor.
  • Basic computer proficiency; comfortable with digital tools and ERP systems.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and working in challenging environments.
  • Aware of safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel (primarily day trips, occasional overnights) and work extended hours as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with valve, actuator, pump, or heat trace repair.
  • Industrial or mechanical field service background.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout and industrial safety protocols.
  • Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.
  • Comfortable with computer-based tools for training and documentation.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems and processes.
