Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Purchasing Intern. Please review the responsibilities and needed qualifications below and apply today!

Responsibilities:

Learn the organization's policies, processes, systems, products, and/ or services and responsibilities based on the incumbent's functional work assignments. Acquires knowledge of industry practices through on-the-job training. Interns will learn about purchasing, receiving, monitoring inventory for a manufacturing facility and other jobs as assigned. This is a seasonal/ temporary salary non-exempt position (May 1st-September 30th).

Essential Functions:

  • Completes cycle counts to support meeting year-end targets
  • Cover for summer vacation/ leave
  • Handle the physical receiving/stocking of goods
  • Assist with warehouse projects, including reorganizing bin locations and storerooms
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, walking, stooping, standing, and pulling for up to 8 hours per day
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Working towards college degree
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well in team environment
  • Computer and keyboard skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate earning bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field
