Overview

The CADD Manager position serves as the Manager to lower classified CADD Operators and as lead CADD Operator. This job description does not suggest or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. The CADD Manager will be required to follow other instructions and perform other duties assigned by their supervisor. CADD Manager will support civil engineering projects such as water, wastewater, sewer, roads, streets and other utility and transportation related projects for local agency clients throughout the greater Seattle Market.

Primary Duties

  • Plan, organize and manage work plans of CADD project team.
  • Manage project resource identification and schedule for CADD team. CADD Manager works with project managers to ensure CADD Operator staffing of projects.
  • Provide guidance and direction to CADD team to ensure operational and technical excellence.
  • Develop, implement and monitor CADD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs and specific customer standards, and the firm’s best practices.
  • Manage CAD hardware and software systems for the design team.
  • Work with Engineering Leads regarding technical issues, training and other CADD system issues.
  • Organize and archive completed projects.
  • Provide production CADD support for all projects when needed. May be the lead CADD technician on large or complex projects.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with clients for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues.
  • Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiency.
  • Recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs.
  • Hire, train and supervise CADD users in core application skills and standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Strong Preference for candidates with experience supporting local agencies throughout greater Seattle Market.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree / Technical Certificate preferred.
  • 10+ years related work experience, with 8+ years of design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with applicable CADD applications Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation is required. Other applications such as Bently Open Roads, Project Wise, and other drafting and design applications are beneficial but not required
  • Proficiency with internal CADD Standards and practices. Applicable CADD certifications are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industry Design Standards and Specifications as required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Proven ability to lead / mentor technical staff.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to lead project design independently.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and meticulous with details.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing design teams to deliver quality project outcomes.

Location

  • Position is available out of Seattle, WA or Everett, WA and is based on a hybrid schedule

Salary

  • $142, 000 - $152, 000 (DOE)
