SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for utilizing an advanced set of quality skills and tools to define, monitor, and sustain systemic parameters to maximize the overall quality of manufactured product with an area of focus involving overall customer experience. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation to customer requirements. Establishes and evaluates precision and accuracy of production, testing, measurement and analytical equipment and facilities. Assists in the development and implementation of methods and procedures for control of nonconforming material, and devises methods to assess responsibility. Guides workers engaged in measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, products and process quality and reliability Experience in 8D CAPA methodology with intent to implement for customer complaints. Compiles and writes training materials and conducts evaluation audits on quality activities to build quality awareness. Assists in the creation of quality policies and procedures. Directs the analysis of failures and analyzes process problems to develop corrective actions Addresses customer concerns on quality related questions. Supports customer and regulatory audits with the help of the Lead Auditor Monitors changes in the quality performance and communicates information to employees Aids in devising sampling procedures, and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Assists in the preparation and review of quality information within customer contracts Attends internal and customer design reviews as required Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes. Experience in implementing and maintaining statistical process controls. Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with customer requirements. Reviews traveler designs to ensure quality requirements are included Assists with continuous improvement efforts and risk management tools. *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees. Engineer I Engineer II Engineer III Engineer IV Engineer V A bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences or 5+ years of experience in a technical engineering role. A bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences with 3+ years of experience or 10+ years of experience in a technical engineering role. A bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences with 5+ years of experience or 15+ years of experience in a highly technical and related engineering role. A bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences with 10+ years of experience in a related engineering role. A bachelor's degree in engineering/sciences with 10+ years of experience working in a similar engineering role, broad industry-related experience, and 5+ years in a leadership role; a master's degree is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred Certified Internal Auditor, preferred Certified Quality Engineer, preferred LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. JOB SKILLS Advanced in MS Office Suite and SharePoint. Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred. Familiar with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 quality management system (QMS) standards. Experienced in equipment, product, and process qualifications. Experience with inspection equipment used within the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Industry. Understanding and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles to Quality processes. Good organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once. Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, statistical software such as JMP or MiniTab and willingness to learn existing ERP system (SAP) & associated software efficiently Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form Strong desire to work in a team made up of a cross functional group of individuals Selfâstarter that can work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines PHYSICAL DEMANDS As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding. SALARY INFORMATION: According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $90, 000 and $140, 000 hourly/annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline.
