About the Role

Do you have a passion for learning and a dedication to safety? The Alcoa Huntly Mine Site team is excited to welcome you as a Trainer in our Fixed Plant department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering on-the-job training, upskilling, and mentoring our site team members. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with line management to select relevant external and internal training programs.

• Resource internal training activities to develop mine site personnel.

• Enhance the effectiveness of training programs by designing and producing engaging teaching aids.

• Provide hands-on training advice and assessments of employees’ skills.

• Continuously update standard operating procedures for all training programs within your area of responsibility.

• Ensure all new employees receive appropriate training and direction to maintain high operating standards.

What can you bring to the role

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

• Extensive knowledge of fixed plant maintenance and operations

• Proven experience in an on-the-job training role, such as a Crew Trainer

• Familiarity with various training tools

• Well versed with high-risk work licenses and requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude towards safety and the environment

• Manual driver’s licence

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent (desirable but not essential)

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
