The Pump World Applications Engineer position focuses on technical sales and also provides product application, quotation, and post-sale product support to Pump World customers.
JOB DUTIES: Sales & Customer Support
- Provide application, quotation, and post-sale product support to customers.
- Review and analyze cost accounting data on sales orders to ensure accurate margin reporting and alignment with established profitability targets.
- Serve as the point of contact for vendor-related sales and service issues between customers and vendors
- Work with FCG sister companies to leverage relationship sales across our network of vendors and customers
Vendor & Product Management
- Manage relationships with assigned vendors. Build strong, strategic relationships to ensure timely issue resolution, drive continuous improvement, and secure optimal vendor discounts.
- Assist in pulling and verifying parts for sales orders and incoming shipments.
- Test and verify products received from vendors and customers.
- Occasionally, modify or calibrate components to meet customer needs.
New Product Line Onboarding & Growth
- Identify and evaluate new product lines for potential onboarding based on market demand and strategic fit.
- Work with website, IT, and ERP teams to integrate new product lines into internal systems.
- Coordinate with the web team to ensure accurate and optimized product listings.
- Attend vendor training and provide internal education on new product offerings.
Training & Market Strategy
- Organize internal cross-departmental training to enhance technical and sales knowledge.
- Analyze market trends quarterly to identify new opportunities and areas for growth and coordinate advertising campaigns.
- Collaborate with leadership to set sales goals for new product lines.
TRAVEL: This role may require occasional travel for vendor training, industry events, or customer visits. All business travel is company-paid and planned with adequate notice.
ESSENTIAL KSA's (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): - Engineering background with strong technical, sales, and business acumen.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to analyze market trends and contribute to growth strategies.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and general business software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in technical sales or product support, preferably in a B2B environment.
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is strongly preferred.
WORK ATMOSPHERE: The Applications Engineer works in a professional office environment with ample natural light and climate control. The role involves extended periods at a desk, computer-based work, and occasional travel to vendor or customer sites.
