JOB STATEMENT: The Engineering Technician position specializes in the repair and calibration of our instrumentation. The Engineering Technician also specializes in the production, modification, and customization of existing process control equipment and devices.
JOB DUTIES: - Evaluate returned items to determine calibration needs, price, and/or repairs needed
- Contact customer (by email or phone) to discuss results of evaluation; continue conversation as needed throughout the repair/calibration process
- Use NetSuite to create sales orders, service quotes, return authorizations, correspond with customers, and log notes
- Complete calibrations complying with Instrumart standards
- Execute repairs to manufacturer specifications
- Be aware of and follow hazardous material procedures
- Use advised safety precautions appropriately while performing all work
- Create calibration certificates and file accordingly
- Modify and program controllers, Flow meters and recorders, including soldering as needed
SECONDARY JOB DUTIES: - Available to provide back-up coverage in Shipping & Receiving as needed
- Assists with picking, packing, and shipping product
- Assists in receiving, inspecting, and accepting deliveries
- Examine contents of deliverables and compares with records, such as invoices or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
ESSENTIAL KSA's (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities): - Excellent time & workload management skills
- Aptitude for engineering technician processes
- Mechanically inclined
- Customer service orientation
- Initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Self motivated
- Strong computer skills (Engineering Technicians use our in-house business management software, NetSuite, on a regular basis)
WORK ATMOSPHERE: The Engineering Technician works in lab environment. The lab climate is controlled at a comfortable temperature year-round, air conditioned in the summer and heated in the cooler seasons. Substantial time spent at a desk or lab bench, sitting, doing repetitive motions may be required.
Engineering technicians are working with soldering, hazardous materials, and electricity; it is crucial that they follow the safety precautions that have been laid out by Instrumart.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: An Associate's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or general Engineering is preferred.
