JD Logistics Support Engineer

CAR-T is an innovative treatment, which uses the power of the patient's own immune system. A patient's T-cells are genetically modified to eliminate cancer cells. This ground-breaking, innovative technology provides hopeful prospects to patients where other therapies have failed or fail to provide adequate results.

To support the CAR-T program in EMEA, J& J is building two CAR-T manufacturing centers in the Ghent area. A growing team of passionate talent is implementing the new sites, developing, and refining all tools, processes and procedures that ensure a highly reliable, safe, and efficient production process. Janssen entered this platform in a global, strategic partnership with Legend Biotech.

This position will be supporting our two new manufacturing facilities (Obelisc & Tech Lane) in the leading Biotechnology Hub of Ghent, Belgium. Role and responsibilities:
The Logistics Support Engineer role is an exempt level position where you will act as a decision maker in the logistics workstream with responsibilities in setting up, maintaining and improving a part of the Operations System. This will include but is not limited to following responsibilities:

- You will immerse yourself in the entire logistics and warehouse design process and build up thorough expertise
- You will be providing logistic input to project and design teams for the development and design of flows, processes, buildings, utilities, infrastructure IT and logistic systems.
- Simultaneously you will participate on a project-based manner to support various functions and departments as a logistics representative
- You will contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects to ensure logistic bottlenecks within the EMEA CAR-T supply chain are reduced
- You will support change controls for Logistics readiness and perform the necessary assessments on the impact on the logistics processes
- You will build a sustainable partnership with Legend Biotech and participate in operational governance meetings such as existing Tier structures and be present on logistics shop floor

Experience
Minimum 0-3 yearsQualification & skills
- You have a master's degree, preferably in an engineering or supply chain field.
- You like to tread new paths, to make full use of your knowledge and experience, but also to broaden it, so that new problems get an appropriate solution.
- You see and seek opportunities, even when they are not immediately obvious.
- You embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- You maintain high standards of integrity, respect, and sustainability
- You can deal with procedures and guidelines that require strict application, and with changing situations where not everything is clear yet.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, IT systems or cell therapy (CAR-T) is an asset
